Sleeping like a Rock

When Lily became fifteen years old, old enough to take care and stay home by herself, Mare and Pearlite went back to serving their kingdom. Although her parents went back to  their duties, Pearlite worries about Lily often. Does she have enough food? Can she clean the house and remember to wash her?etc. Mare reassures her that their little girl will be fine, they spent most of the time training her the ways of a moon warrior.

"Besides Pearlite," Mare reminds Pearlite "I seen you tell her all this 'womanly' things and how to use her ice magic in case the house gets on fire." Pearlite sighed, "Yes yes, but other than teaching and training, I haven't really left her alone before. I would watch her carefully..."

Mare hugged Pearlite and told her to cheer up and believe in Lily. Soon, they reached the palace and their tasks were assigned; they are to leave to Earth to help out the other bunnyhuman villages.

Two days later, Lily received a letter from her father. "I wonder what did Pops wrote..." she pondered as she unravels the letter. The letter said:

Dear Lily,
Good morning Lily, how are things? Your mommy and I are at Earth, helping out our friends; we'll be back in a couple of weeks or more, so please be careful till then. Even if our village and kingdom are safe, please be aware of what might lurks on the roads and outskirts of town. Your mother and I are worried about you, but I believe you can take care of yourself. Speaking of dangers, the officials said that they have seen something shady around nighttime. The figure is unclear and unknown so watch yourself if you see it. Have a wonderful week dear. May the blessings of Selene be with you.

Mare and Pearlite Moonlight

After Lily finish reading her father's letter, she puts the letter away in the kitchen and prepares some breakfast. "A shady figure huh? I wonder who that could be..." she quietly thought to herself while pouring tea into her mug. Lily sets her cup onto the table and sat down on a chair to drink. While drinking her tea, she just realized that she'll be by herself while her parents are gone. Jumping for joy, while her parents are away, Lily can go out and have fun! Luckily, the training camp doesn't start till next week as it is break at the moment, but she needs to keep her home neat and clean herself up. Her long blue hair is messy and is in her jammies...not quite the morning person. After breakfast, the cheerful Moonfolk scrubbed the kitchen clean, organized the bedrooms and living rooms, and lastly took a bath without having her father nagging her to hurry up. It was quite a relaxing time for Lily, for she is able to feel whats it like to live by herself. Out of the bathroom, she wore the traditional clothes of a Moonfolk, long dress with flared sleeves and a floppy muffler. She picked up her traveling bag and went for a stroll in town. For the next few days, Lily and her friend, Mocha Starlight hung out with each other and went shopping together. Everything was going great, everything seems safe and sound, but before the second week, something doesn't turn out too well...

Friday night. It was a cool evening, stars were out and the wind blows gently throughout the night. Seems like a lovely night to relax under the stars. Lily went out to her favorite tree at her school. The school owned a recreational center that's open to the community and located at the back. Since it was night time and vacation, the school was locked, but the patio and recreational area was free to the people. However, tonight, it was empty, no one was around to look over the place. As Lily reached to her tree, she lays down and look up at the sparkling night sky. "I wonder how Mommy and Pops are doing..." she quietly asked herself, "Only...one...more-" She fell asleep and turned to her side before she could finish her sentence. While she dozed off, tired from having fun earlier, something flew in the wind. A soft, fluttering sound, then quiet footsteps walked towards Lily, who sleeps like a rock. Normally, anything noisy and suspicious would wake her up, but the soft grass, warm winds, and quietness kept her sleeping.

"My, what do we have here?" said the shadowy figure, "I never seen such lovely meal laid right here in front of my eyes."

As he reached the sleeping bunnyhuman, the figure kneels down next to Lily and looks around her. Hungry from wandering from place to place, he sniffed around her neck and reveals his fangs; long, sharp, and white. This shady figure is actually a  vampire! Slowly and softly, the vampire brushes aside her blue hair and sank his teeth into her pale neck. As he sucks her lightly and drank slowly, Lily whimpers a bit. Possibly from a bad dream, and she turned onto her back. Sensing the movement, the vampire took out his fangs and hides them in his arms, covered in her blood. as she turned. "Oh…my," he beamed when he glanced at her. Young, beautiful, and peaceful are the first words that came to the vampire's mind when he saw her soft, sweet face and long, silky blue hair. One thing that was brought to his attention was the blood dripping from the two bite marks on her neck. The vampire feels compassionate and sorry for the bunnyhuman that if he continues to drink all of her sweet blood, then she'll live her life as a raving, blood thirsty beast. Tempting as it is, he lifted her up and licks her neck clean, resisting the urge to continue suck on her. "I'm sorry for taking some of your precious blood…" he apologized. The vampire then pierces his index finger with one of his fangs and squeezes some of his blood, just a drop and rubs it on the bite marks. Because Lily lost some blood when the vampire bit and fed on her, his blood quickly replaces most of the loss for now. However this changes her into a half vampire. After he gave his blood to her, he bandages Lily's neck with a piece of his cloth. "In my sacrifice, I have spared you and transformed you into not a full vampire, but a half vampire," the vampire apologizes to her and continues, "So you can sustain yourself, but my apologies for taking you as a meal. Please forgive me…Lily." The name dances lightly on his lips. He carries her to a place where it is beautiful and delicate as her and found the bed of bright moon flowers and other white plants. The vampire lays Lily there, where she could continue to rest peacefully. From his cloak, he placed a white box next to her and said, "Please accept this." And then he left to where he lives.
Saturday morning, a beautiful pale light shone on Lily. She woke up startled, as if something surprised her. "Whoa! What'd I miss?" she quickly asked, "Where am I? I thought I was at my tree…" Lily looks around and discovered the white package next to her. "What's this?" she quietly asked herself as she inspects it. There's a tag on it and Lily read it, "To – Lily, From – Melanthios." The name sounds awkward to her, but since it's a gift, she gladly accepted it and opens it up. In the box, Lily found a lovely black and white dress, black stockings and short heels. "What a wonderful gift!" she cheerfully said. However her face changes curiously when she found a vial in the box along with the dress. The vial is the color of blood, but Lily doesn't know that and she was feeling parched. As she opens the vial, she inhaled the sweet scent and drank it. Her wounds were healed and the contents in the vial controlled her need for blood so Lily can still appear as a bunnyhuman, The blood that Melanthios gave her is the blood of a human mixed with some rabbit blood. After the blood went through Lily's body, she gathered her stuff and went home.

From then on, Melanthios the vampire watches over Lily, in case she cannot control her hunger.
